2020 in review | Backyard Weddings

Shooting backyard weddings has been my dreams since forever. Tying the knot in the house where you grew up, with all the history and emotion lies in every corners, and a far from template vibes are only a few of the reasons . I live in Indonesia where weddings are grand and big in scale, it’s almost impossible to achieve such concept.

But 2020 was indeed a unique year. Many plans changed, trips cancelled, and random things happened. Most of my couples postponed their destination weddings and got married in the comfort of their house instead. As a photographer who’s been dreaming of such thing, I am the happiest.

People became more creative in transforming their backyards and houses as a wedding venue. They did all the safety protocols and covid prevention tests to make sure all guests and vendors are safe. and the best thing is they only invited their inner circle which makes all the memories so close and personal.

Here’s a glimpse of some backyard weddings I covered in 2020 in Jakarta. Honestly, I hope this trend lasts.
